As we could not access the premises to dispatch the official ECA report packages until recently, CES pivoted to provide a certified electronic copy of the ECA report to mitigate the impact on physical dispatch of the official ECA report packages caused by lockdowns. In the meantime, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has agreed to accept the electronic copy of the ECA report as an interim measure while ECA providers are unable to dispatch the official ECA packages.
As of May 2, 2022, CES has completely resumed the physical dispatch of the official ECA report packages. This means the ECA reports issued on and after May 2, 2022, will no longer be sent electronically as a default. Instead, our dispatch team is working diligently to prepare and send the official ECA report packages to the applicants, according to the delivery method chosen on their application form.
Meanwhile, the certified electronic ECA report becomes a selective service at a nominal fee to cover the associated costs. All CES online application forms have been updated to reflect this new delivery method. If your ECA report was issued prior to May 2, 2022, and you have received a certified electronic copy of the ECA report, you can continue to use it in the interim. Please know for immigration stream ECA reports, the official ECA report package is mandatory as required by CES’s service agreement with IRCC.
